Big Increase In New Build Registrations: Builders Are You Ready?

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The development of new homes is positive news for many people, firms and industries across the United Kingdom. Given that demand for homes is larger than the supply, prospective buyers are desperate to see more homes placed onto the market and there is a consensus in the market that building new homes will help a lot of people.

It should also be pointed out that new homes being developed is beneficial to the economy. When building firms have a lot of work to do, they employ more professionals and the workers have more confidence in the work that they are doing. Having more people in employment and having people feel more confident in their work is positive for the economy and this creates benefits for other people, firms and communities.

Many people want more homes to be built

So, recent figures which suggest that the number of new homes being built in the UK is rising is likely to be regarded as a positive thing for many people.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1294″ img_size=”large” lazy_loading=”true” css=”.vc_custom_1549121534213{margin-top: 20px !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1549121574209{margin-top: 20px !important;}”]

NHBC figures suggest that in July of 2018, over 15,800 new homes were registered to be developed in the United Kingdom. With respect to July 2017 figures, the 2018 figures indicated a 35% rise. There were 12,087 new homes registered within the private sector while 3,782 were registered for the affordable sector. Both areas witnessed an increase in 2018 compared to the 2017 figures.

Given the NHBC is regarded as the number one warranty and insurance provider for new property in the UK, their registration figures are regarded as a reliable indicator in how the new homes market is faring.

Steve Wood is the Chief Executive of NHBC and he released a statement on the July figures, saying;

Following a slow start to the year due to the extreme weather, we have had promising new home figures in recent months with July seeing a real uplift. Over the last three months we have had growth in new home registrations in eight out of 12 UK regions, with London leading the way.”

Builders need to be ready to meet this demand

With more new homes being developed, it is vital that builders understand the process and can carry out work to the highest standard. The demand for new build homes means that some new firms will enter the market, so these firms must be aware of the regulations and standards expected of them. There is also the fact that existing firms need to know the latest regulations while providing a standard of service which maintains their reputation and ensures that they continue to receive work orders.

When there is work to be done, some firms may decide to complete the project as quickly as possible. This will bring in money quicker and it will help the firm move on to their next job quicker. However, this is only true if the work is carried out to the highest standard. If work is poor, builders must resolve the problems which delays their ability to take new jobs and it may delay or diminish their payment.

Therefore, even when demand for building services is high, builders must build homes that meet the standards of developers and end users. At H.I.C.H. LTD, we ensure that you know what standards are expected and must be met, so contact us and we look forward to helping you grow your business.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
