The number of prospective tenants is higher than ever.
The reopening of the rental market has led to this increase.
The number of potential tenants continued to rise in July, reaching the highest number on record, which was revealed in the ARLA Propertymark July Private Rented Sector (PRS) report.
The average tenant branch registered 97 new tenants, compared to 79 on average in June. That breaks the previous record of 88 in January 2020.
“The number of potential tenants has broken a new record.”
Phil Keddie, Chairman of ARLA Propertymark, said: “Our latest figures show that the rental market continues to gather momentum following the reopening of the UK housing markets.”
“We have seen a record level of rental stock and tenant demand continues to grow, providing a positive outlook for the future of the private rental sector.”
“For the market to fully recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is vital that landlords have good communication with their tenants and that they continue to pay their rents, especially in light of the changes in the rules and the announcements that impact notice periods and the government offers financial support to tenants and landlords.”
The number of rental properties has been increasing.
The number of rental properties available in July also increased, with an average of 208 properties managed per leasing agent branch.
That is the highest number on record in July.
That has been surprising to the experts, who assured that after lifting the lockdown measures, it would be difficult for the market to recover.
However, current figures have shown that the property and the rental market have recovered at a rapid pace. An essential factor in this accelerated recovery was the economic schemes launched by the government to reduce the economic impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thanks to these successful movements by the UK government, the population was not only able to resist the economic crisis, but also to be able to recover more quickly and accelerate the reactivation of the economy.
