With millions of women asserting they were inadequately informed about State Pension age changes, WASPI awaits the outcome of a Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman investigation, anticipating recommendations of £10,000 or more in compensation per affected individual.

Affected Demographics

Primarily contesting alterations enacted under the 1995 Conservative Government’s State Pension Act and the 2011 Pension Act, which raised the State Pension age for women from 60 to 65, aligning with men’s retirement age, and subsequently to 66 for all, WASPI delineates the demographic impact.

Eligibility Criteria

Women born from April 6, 1950, to April 5, 1960, face disproportionate repercussions from the expedited and inadequately communicated pension age adjustments. The lack of timely notification and accelerated implementation has compounded the challenges affected individuals face.
