Garden properties are the most requested by buyers

Houses that have a garden are more attractive to those looking to buy a property.

When it comes to buying a home, gardens are now the top priority for Brits after being locked up, according to research from personal finance comparison website finder.com.

One in three (33%) potential buyers said the garden and the size of the outdoor space was their top priority.

Property size (28%) and parking (24%) are the second and third most important factors.

“Green spaces have become a priority for the British.”

Matthew Boyle, a mortgage expert at finder.com, said: “Since closing, outdoor space has become a major priority for many Brits. This has meant that many of those who live in flats or cities are looking to move to properties with better supplies outdoors.”

“Some have even moved to the field where there is more space and these results prove it. This trend is likely to continue, especially given second wave concerns.”

“In terms of generation, millennials (27%), generation x (35%), boomers (40%), and the silent generation (31%) said that outdoor space was the most important factor for them.”

“It is normal that the British now want to be surrounded by green spaces. Gardens give properties that feeling of freedom that people crave after all the time they spent indoors.”
